Timelines:

Course Selection for the following school year takes place in the winter of the current year. 

For students currently in Grade 8, Course Selection will start on January 15th, 2024. Bell HS staff will visit Grade 8 classes and explain that course selection process. Students homeroom teachers will continue to help students through this process. Copies of the slides from Gr 8 Visits are included on this site.

For current Grade 9 to 12 students, Course Selection will start in early February, and will include courses for next year, including selection of eLearning courses for both Semester 1 and 2 of the following school year. Slides and resources are included at the bottom of this webpage.
How is course selection done? 

Course selection is done using a course contract worksheet that students complete to select courses.  Students will be given information about course offerings, prerequisites, pathways and how to login and enter their selections through workshops and presentations at school.  

Students (and their parents/guardians) enter their selections into Xello by accessing the student portal virtual learning environment (VLE) entering their selections into Xello and then submitting them prior to the deadline.

Parent Verification forms must be completed for each student.  Parents or Guardians should complete the form for students under 18, and students who are 18 years of age or older can complete the form themselves.
